Tuesday January 12, 12:13 pm Eastern Time RESEARCH ALERT - Soundview starts Unisys as buy NEW YORK, Jan 12 (Reuters) - SoundView Technology Group analyst Gary Helmig on Tuesday said he had initiated coverage of Unisys Corp. (NYSE:UIS - news) with a buy rating and had set a short-term price target of $42 on the stock. -- set estimates of $1.05 per share for fiscal 1998, a penny higher than the Wall Street consensus; $1.34 for 1999, 2 cents ahead of the consensus, and $1.62 for 2000, 2 cents higher than the consensus. -- stock was at 34-3/4, up 15/16, at midday. -- Unisys is to report fourth quarter earnings on Thursday.
