Gottfried,

Let me put it this way....if my PC had a USB port and I didn't have any type of zip drive, the USB zip drive would definitely be the one I would buy. As I understand it, you don't even have to "install" it like other zip drives....all you have to do is plug it in and your computer will instantly "see" the USB zip drive. It's also my understanding that the USB zip drive runs considerably faster than a parallel port zip drive, rivaling the performance of a SCSI zip drive.

Personally, I have had the same parallel port zip drive since April, 1996. But, since I have an external 1 Gb jaz drive that runs via an Iomega jaz jet SCSI card, just yesterday I ordered an external SCSI zip drive from www.buy.com for $97.95 + $10.92 for UPS ground shipping. I can daisy chain the zip drive with the jaz drive and get much higher performance. I didn't really have to do this, but you know how it is....I just wanted it! *g*
