I think the sell-off is due to the 10 point gain yesterday. If we're down 4-5 points today then that's pretty much in-line with the '2 steps forward, one step back' march that INTC has been on for years. There's probably some ambivalence about the earnings release. If Intel doesn't beat consensus fairly well, I think we'll be in for a rough ride.
