"Oh, we don't make that model any longer," said the order taker. "Too many of that model were sold and production has stopped. The next in line is our 1800 model. It's only $800 more." I asked if they were going to call me. "Oh, yes, we would have called you eventually but we're just too busy."

OH BROTHER!!!!!! The order taker said that to a shareholder!!! I think I would call back and ask for a supervisor. If that didn't do anything, I would write EP a short note with my concerns about the business. Including all paper work. Bet that would jerk things around a bit.

Employees at large companies get away with this because nobody reports them to the managers.
