Intel says 1999 Capex to be down from 1998:

** Capital spending for 1999 is expected to be approximately $3.0 billion,
down from $4.0 billion in 1998, which included approximately $475 million
of capital assets acquired from Digital Equipment Corporation. The lower
capital spending for 1999 is primarily a result of reduced investment for new
facilities and improved utilization of manufacturing equipment.
