I can't think of them off the top of my head. But, I saw it happen twice last year. The stocks tripled the day before the symbol change. I'm not trying to convince you to buy anything, I'm only trying to gain information about the symbol change process and what it means to those that are short, so I can make an educated decision about taking a position in NM before the symbol changes to ETV.

The addition of a 5th letter like E or Q is a naming system that NASDAQ uses to indicate the status of a stock. It is not the tpye of symbol change that I'm referring to. I don't think the addition or subtraction of the 5th letter on a NASDAQ symbol causes a stock to be reissued. Therefore it does not affect the shorts.
