K,

As you know, I watch the RT ticker pretty closely (when not playing golf).

I have noted that most (95%,not all) days the last trade recocorder for the next day's open is from the NYSE at or about the last 4pm NYSE trade price ... and it apprears on my RT at 5:01-5:11.

Now, that is I believe a trade made ('presumably' not settled) before any after 4pm Pacific Exch or aftermarket.

It seems to me that the NYSE might save this 'last trade' settlement and put it through at 5:01 or 5:11 to sort of say THAT'S THE END OF THE DAY. Most days it doesn't really matter, some days like today it sure DOES.

HOW CAN THE NYSE DO THAT ??? ..... Get's me !!!

If anyone else has a logical explanation, I'd like to hear it.

Michael
