Not much help for genomics companies after
the BusinessWeek article in the 1/18/99 issue.

Mentioned in the article were a few large cap
pharma, but also

Genset, GENXY--this chart looks downright ugly
as it has sagged from $28 to less than $25 in
the last five trading sessions. Apparently the
H&Q conference is not doing anything for this
one either--they presented Monday I think.

Myriad, MYGN--this stock has sagged from 10 1/2
to 9 1/2 today, before popping a bit before the
close as a large block of shares went off. It
still closed down ten percent for the day, but
clearly somebody, perhaps a fund, was willing
to do a little shopping today. This one is on my
will-it-ever-break-out watch list.

Other poor perfomances in the last week include
ENZ which looked good early today, then sagged.
It is staying put around 10 1/4 after falling
from over 13 a month or so ago--it did great
last fall however and is on my momo watch list.

INCY fell from just under 38 to 35 today, the
chart looks sick.

HGSI not much going on. Volume poopin' out after
a bit of a run last friday and yesterday.

HYSQ...a few more folks getting shook out of
this perrennial dog, down 1/4 today and now
at it's support level...watch out if it breaks
through that, but I've often thought of getting
this one...however:

AFFX...strong, has run from 26 to around 30 in
the last five trading sessions, chart looks like
a winner, plenty of volume these past two days.
Maybe it has nothing to do with the lawsuit with
hysq--but I wonder, it wouldn't be reaction to
H&Q, becasue I don't think they are on the list.

MLNN...has done well, leveled off today tho.

GENE, GMED pretty dull but they happen to be on my
gene watch list--I know it is a loose list, a few
genomics, a dash of this and that...and probably a
lot of stuff missing--if anybody has suggestions to
fill out my gene watch list please PM me.

Stepping away from my loosely named gene list,
I have other watch lists. LKST was one of the
few performers today--they presented Monday at
the HQ.

OSIP is another I watch, and it tried to rally
today after 100k shares went off early, but
then it sagged again, but still up a bit for the
day. Those two were noted exceptions to a day
where it was a sea of red in small cap biotech.
