Hey, TA: How have you been?

You must admit that anyone who has shorted PFE over the last 5 years needed to be very nimble and attentive in order to make any money. As shown by the Peabody Peaks & Valleys, it was possible... but it was much easier and profitable to have a long position.

Year Ending..... PFE......% Chg .
Date............. Price.....Prior Year....Comments
12/30/94......... 19.32.......12.0%
12/29/95..........31.50.......63.1% ......2-1 split (6/95)
12/30/96..........41.50.......31.7%
12/31/97..........74.56.......79.7% ......2-1 split (6/30/97)
12/31/98......... 125.00......67.6%......Viagra approved (3/27/98)

You are also probably wise to stay away from Pharma investments. Some of the world's worst investors in biotech and pharma companies are physicians....too close to the products..... but not close enough to understand the industry, liabilities, regulations and marketing.

As for Viagra, how about agreeing that you and I will always have different opinions about its use and potential? Time will tell who was right......probably within the next year.

By the way, some of my favorite stocks besides the Big Pharmas are AOL, CSCO, and MSFT....real profit-making Internet plays.

Best of luck with your investments...especially AOL!
