Thread-

Not exactly Happy Times Are Here Again, but I got this from a cyber-friend who listened to the cc:

<<Just a real quick update, as most of the info is in the press release.
-23 cent/share....in line with internal estimates...penny ahead of street.

-UK turnaround was a very pleasant surprise. Expect break-even on the
year.
-Taiwan nuclear power contract is extremely positive. Still see
weakness in Asia, though.
-The almost $300mil added to the backlog is as much as sales for all of last year!
-stopped buying back shares on Dec. 5, as they felt there was sufficient
info that had not been released and could not continue buyback until it was.... $13mil in stock was
repurchased at an average cost of $8.5. If I remeber correctly, that leaves another 1mil in shares to
buy....
-G&A had a significant increase due to the acquisitions, equipment
purchases and also interest expenses....should decline somewhat over the following Q's.
-Gross profit was up to 17.8%...better than expected and project a
budgeted 16.5% for fiscal year (may have to change budget.)
-Dain Rauscher and (BELIEVE IT OR NOT) Smith Barney, both had positive
words for SGR. Maybe we'll get a positive review by SB????...NAH, but
stranger things have happened....
-Oh, they also said 90% of the backlog should be completed in the next
12 months...do the math. Earnings should reflect this.>>
