Eric, I have no knowledge of earnings estimates changes and am not sure to what extent Zacks'info is up-to-date. I would think that with earnings expected in about 2 weeks (mid-Feb) and OREX being up on volume, speculation that earnings will meet/exceed expectations is generating the buying demand.

My thoughts all along have been that we might see $8.5-$9 again soon based on YE/4Q numbers (or merely such speculation). In that event, I will consider opportunities to write covered "10" calls, short-term, as an income-generating hedge. I think the market wants to see at least a couple quarters' eps growth. As I've mentioned before, such covered call writing is not without risks and can backfire, meaning stock becomes overbought (in the money) just before Call expiration. If so, I will roll up and out on expiration day when time premium on my 10 calls has depleted and pay such losses from time premium available in new, short-term 12.5 calls subsequently written ("subsequently" is a key qualifier because I never write naked calls). Just my opinion, but I'm definitely in this one for the intermediate to longterm haul. Just always looking for best probability plays on volatility to enhance total return.
