Hi j rector:

above, I would jump more on the CAP bandwagon, but in any of
the published comparisons, CAP has either avoided direct one-to-one comparisons, or has fared poorly. >>

In my opinion you are paying to much tribute to technical performance aspects, such as achieved speed and noise resistance. Even though these factors are very imposrtant they might turn out to be irrelevant in the winning of one technology over the other. If CAP-based RADSL will be widely accepted (and I sow two articles today reporting that USRX joined CAP camp and LUs agreement with Paradyne in supporting the CAP approach) it will be done based on:

- availability
- acceptable performance as far as RBOCs and ISVs are concerned
- availability of the maxing equipment to handle the traffic
- acceptable price/performance ratio
- maintainability of the RADSL products and network equipment
- marketing potential of RADSL vs ADSL at higher price

If you remember IBM selected Intel 8088 over Motorola's 68000 which was better then 8088 at the time and VCR makers selected VHS over Sony's BETA, which suposedly was also better then VHS.
