Marketwatch.com raises IPO price range to $14-$16

NEW YORK, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Amid the frenzy for Internet stocks, financial news Web site Marketwatch.com Inc. has raised the price range of its initial public stock offering to $14-$16 from the original $10-$12, lead underwriter BT Alex. Brown said Wednesday.

Marketwatch.com, a joint venture between CBS Corp. and Data Broadcasting Corp. , plans to offer 2.75 million shares on Jan. 14 for trading on Jan. 15.

CBS will provide $30 million in advertising on the CBS television network to promote Marketwatch.com.

In an attempt to enable airport travelers to better access business news, Marketwatch.com announced an advertisement and content partnership with privately-held Internet access provider get2net on Monday.

Get2net's NetStations will feature advertising directing travelers to access financial news from the Marketwatch.com Web site.

CBS shares closed at 35-7/8 Tuesday. Data Broadcasting shares closed at 35-1/8. ((--Nadja Rogoszynski, Wall Street Desk (212) 859 1730))
