It is only a few weeks ago that most on this thread were hoping that CPQ would reach and hold $35-38 by year end or before earnings. Most were expecting $50 from April to October. I felt that $42 was probable by year end and that $50 would be by 21st February, 1999.

So before getting too despondent let's remember how expectations have changed in a short time. In my opinion it overreached itself in spiking to $48+ because I thought a spike to $45 was more reasonable before earnings (although the momentum suggested a second spike to $47).

Given the overbought nature of the NAZ and some sectors of the DOW there is no knowing how far negative momentum will move to bring about a satisfactory short-temr correction. But CPQ between $40-42 is a good buy and it would be even sweeter for the buyers if it goes lower.

There is something very odd about the severity of this morning's opening market - Brazil is not worth this much, but it has probably lit the fuse of the ticking bomb of overvalue already in the market and espescially in the NAZ. So it could be a short, sharp sweet correction and CPQ could get back to $43-45 quite soon.
