They never tell you how many people surveyed refused to cooperate. It is usually between 40% to 50%. They assume that those who refused to cooperate would have answered the same as those who did. Untenable assumption in my opinion. These "scientific" polls have the same weakness as the internet site polls. The participants are self selected.

Reguardless of the above discussion, I don't judge the merit of an argument by the number of people who agree with it.
