Dollar strength caused by Brazil has a negative impact on Japan even as the BOJ is buying dollars. It puts pressure on the FED to start outright pumping again which they stopped around Christmas because the money supply is rising way too fast and forces Japan to engage in stronger stimulative measures. An indication of relative stimulation is whether the BOJ stops further dollar purchases. A strong dollar encourages exports, but too strong encourages flight of capital. One effect of that action is to cause the Nikkei to second bottom. Thus Japan should be headed up into mini-boom like other Asia. Is that contrary opinion or what?
