Sam, the Bell Atlantic AOL deal is fantastic. If they can give broadband for less than $20/mo plus add $22 for subscription, that comes to $40 which is what AtHome charges now with Comcast/TCI.
Furthermore the Baby Bells own the famous " last mile " of wiring into people's homes. This is what AT&T has been desperately trying to get in through their purchase of TCI. But they only have 20 mill customers I think. That's peanuts.
The Baby Bells are on the warpath against Ma Bell and I am sure they will do everything possible to trip them.
I am seeing in the near future ( 2-4 months ), multiple nationwide accords between the Bells and AOL to provide nationwide coverage. If you bundle in telephony into the deal you are talking easily AOL >300 by Oct 98.

AOL @ 148; still a great buy,

back later,

TA
