Earlie, Dell is still currently using exclusively Intel CPUs. There is no change to this seen on the near term horizon. With Intel's latest Celeron product release, and new lower pricing at the low end (well, the lowest that Dell sells, anyway), Dell is happy.
Also, with the PIII CPUs just a month away (and probably already in Dell's hands), the high end also seems secure.
The one unknown is roughly 6 months out, when AMD releases its K7. If it truly outperforms a PIII, and is priced right, Dell could jump ship. But as usual, I think AMD will have a tough time ramping volumes for this new offering.
