Excellent comment on those nasty spreads. One more element in the A.G. nightmare.

I agree completely with your comments on the Japanese yields. They have moved far more quickly than any traders I've talked to could have imagined. If you recall, I suggested that Japanese rates would be forced upward by the currency exodus many moons ago. Took much heat for it then. (g)

Can't remember who said it, but "interventions have a lousy track record" was the gist of it. (g)

"Keep the good money, pass along the bad money" has been a truism since before the Egyptians and like you, I don't expect it to take a holiday, especially as a crisp new, perhaps gold-backed reserve currency makes its debut.
