I am novice too, but one thing I have learned is, if nothing has changed about the reason you bought the stock, then don't sell. Even the high price stocks go up and down. One of the first stocks I purchased was AMAT (the leading chip maker). The reason I bought it was, it just declined in price about 30%, had a low PE, and good growth. Then it fell another 30%, and then someone said earning were going to be lower. So I sold it and a month later it was higher than I had bought it for. Read the information, do a little research, and then ask yourself do you think this company is going to make any money? How much? What's a fair value for the stock? Every time I sold a stock because of half truths, I lose money? You could sell and hope to buy later. That's never worked for me. If I sell a stock because the price has gone down, then it is because something else as changed also. Just thinking out loud, Jim |
