As long as computer-illiterate bean counters are signing the purchase orders for computers NT is safe. Beware though if ever anyone with a bit of sense have to make the decision.

I've worked with UNIX since 86 and the last 2-3 years had to deal with a couple of NT servers in our IT department and can say from experience that while a unix system runs and runs and generally only needs to be restarted to replace hardware, NT generally has to be restarted every 2-3 days - or it will do it by itself (i.e. crash).

Add a simple piece of client software and you have to restart the whole server.

NT is a PIG and I hope the DOJ will take MS so much apart that bean counters will finally realize what a crock it is and start making decisions with their brain instead of based on empty marketing hype.

Oh, btw - those of you who prefer to have it cut in non technical terms, go read the books Hard Drive and Overdrive by James Wallace. They explain in simple terms why MS should be closed down.
