I have to clarify something I wrote about after the Annual Meeting. I said that NCII was working on a device with Iomega called FIREWIRE. That was wrong. The device is NOT called Firewire -- the Project Code Name was "Firewire". Also, that project is still in development by Norris, but could have a name other than Norris on the retail product. It could also have a name other than Iomega. It uses the Iomega ZIP disk, but that doesn't mean that Iomega's name will be on the product. (I hope I'm not making this more confusing.)

I read about "another" Firewire in today's San Diego paper. That is the Apple trademark for its computer outlet that will handle high speed, heavy data peripherals like video and telephony that require data speeds between 100 and 400 megabits per second. Tomorrow when this article is available on-line, I'll give you the URL here so you can access it.

P.S. Speaking of peripherals, I tried to install a new 33.6 modem in my Packard Bell computer over this past week. After 3 tries and no luck, and many, many attempts to get PB tech. support on the phone, I was finally able to reach them during the Super Bowl. (I figured no one would be working on their computer then. I was right -- I got through on the first try.) It turns out that the new modem CAN'T be installed on my computer because my 2 yr. old Pentium won't recognize a "Plug-and-Play" modem. My computer is obsolete! When you read the article refered to above tomorrow, you'll find out what's coming in computer peripherals to make them easier to install.
