Kaiser says buy Peruvian in hopes of pleasant surprise Peruvian Gold Limited PVO Shares issued 14,227,466 Jan 12 close $0.48 Wed 13 Jan 99 In the News John Kaiser, making his recommendations for 1999 in the Dec. 11, 1998 Bottom-Fishing Report, says Peruvian Gold is a low-priority buy at 46 cents. Mr. Kaiser recommended Peruvian in December 1997 at 80 cents. Earlier buy tips were November 1994 at 77 cents and in December 1995 at 90 cents. With 14.2 million shares, the stock is trading considerably below its cash breakup value. The California stock picker says Peruvian would be a top-priority buy if he could understand the intentions of takeover hopeful Robert Atkinson who bought controlling interest in late 1997. The risk is Mr. Atkinson is only after Peruvian's $11-million treasury and that minority shareholders will not enjoy the benefits of such a transaction.
