Would such a document be evidence of libel and/or slander?

Never having seen or heard exactly what was stated in the document, it's really impossible for me to comment. Besides that, Jeff attributed the statement/affidavit to Mr. Sylver, not to Spider. So Spider's in the clear as pertains to that particular document, I would guess.
