E*Trade totally sucks. I am a "Power Etrade Platinum* subscriber, with supposedly priority access to support, IPOs. What a joke! For the past several days, I have had trouble accessing their site, both the new and classic (especially classic, which I like better than the new one). The "priority" support line is either actually busy, or you have to wait minutes to get through to a human. When you finally do get through, depending on the issue, you will be put on hold again while they transfer you to the right department, and after waiting upto half an hour a couple of times, I finally gave up.

Yesterday I also wanted to indicate interest for the Marketwatch shares. I kept checking frequently until about 5pm PST, at which point I had to leave my computer for the evening. When I got back later in the evening, it was already subscribed. Do they expect us to sit glued to our computers 24 hours to avail of a 2 hour window of opportunity? I have known I want to indicate interest in Marketwatch for weeks now.

I am thinking of moving my assets out of E*Trade soon. The problem is: there aren't too many good choices there either. I want a brokerage where you can trade both stocks and options, at a reasonable price and with good executions. (Datek doesn't do options, and I suspect neither do MBTrading and other daytrading outfits). I guess I am left thinking wishfully.
