John Kaiser, making his recommendations for 1999 in the Dec. 11, 1998
Bottom-Fishing Report, says Queenstake Resources is a medium-priority buy
at 62 cents. Mr. Kaiser tipped the stock a buy in December 1997 at 74 cents
and in December 1995 at 80 cents. The bottom-fishing pundit says his ardor
has cooled toward Queenstake since his recent recommendation in November
because the price has gone up since then. Queenstake, with $8.7-million in
the treasury, is one of the few cash-rich juniors that are still active in
Peru. The big project is Uchcumachay, where Barrick is drilling a
Pierina-style epithermal target. Mr. Kaiser says it has potential as a
major gold system. The company is also drilling its 60-per-cent-owned
Guinoloza project in Mexico next to the El Sauzal deposit. The letter
writer notes Queenstake has an Internet following, and that this presents
trading opportunities.
