Reality check:

AMD hit the number that was out there before the uprgrades of the last three days.

AMD is trading after hours IN THE MIDDLE of the range it's been at since early December.

Only a fool could expect AMD to post blowout numbers given the way K6-2 prices were falling all December.

We have learned that AMD's manufacturing effort is in pretty good shape as far as the K6-2 is concerned--they beat their internal targets for the quarter by one million units (about 20%!).

The most important info that comes out of this quarter end isn't the numbers but is the update on the progress of the K6-3 and K7. This will determine ASPs for the next few quarter--especially Q2, where the real vulnerability may be.
