Re: the Rocker Partners "news" release -
Apparently "just for fun" Reuters Business News re-released the $%#@& thing at 3:03 A.M. this morning (Jan 14, 1999).
Here are some reactions to the first release from the AOL Motley Fool Iomega board:

I have to laugh. I was just getting off line and rechecked IOM's close and lo and behold a news release was just put out. It states that some investment houses are leary of Iomega making any more money.
Guess who it was???? Why a spokesman from Rocker!! The article neglected to say that Rocker is short up the kazoo on Iomega. I just go ballistic when articles like this come out. People read these things and don't know the background and it makes me sick. He says Iomega brought Clik! out too late and there is too much competition out there already. His remark is, "They don't have much and they don't have much going for them." Where do these clowns have the audacity to be quoted when they have no clue as to what they are talking about?
Just venting, I am only a couple of weeks back into Iomega and my blood is boiling already.

<<Standard & Poor's Equity Group analyst Brian Goodstadt said he sees revenues growth potential in the Click! product. Iomega launched Click! in December. The drive holds 40 megabytes of memory and fits into a shirt pocket. ''They're entering into non-traditional storage markets...where they'll see rapid growth,'' Goodstadt said. International Business Machines Corp. and Sony Corp. have products that compete with Click! Analysts said there may not be room for more new storage devices. ''The target market for the Click! product is a very competitive market,'' said Nutmeg Securities Ltd. analyst Jean Orr.>>
Competetive products?
<<Marc Cohodes, an analyst with Rocker Partners in New York, said the OEM channel represents a dead end of low profit margins. He said the market for new storage devices is saturated and Iomega has brought Click! to market too late with the consumer digital camera business now three years old. Cohodes expects the company's sales to continue to decline in 1999. ''They don't have much and they don't have much going for them,'' he said.>>
I've never done this before, but here goes...
hehehahahehehohohehehahahehehohohehehahahohohohoho!

ROFLMAO
A one of kind product, the first and only in its class, in a market thats expected to explode in the next five years and its too late.
Absolute slime

>FYI. The cover photo is of new scanner by Microtek called ImageDeck shows it with Zip disk and the "Zip BUILT IN" logo. Copy says "scanner with Zip and Floppy Drives."
Thanks. But I guess it doesn't matter because Rocker sez
"They don't have much and they don't have much going for them.''
