Now AHT/ADVH can move forward with the real business.

Your Doctor today is supposed to follow a set of medications for you called a Formulary. These are not just the lowest cost drugs but drugs that your Health Plan Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) can get at a low price because they have cut a deal with the Drug Manufacturer.

So one health plan want the doctor to write for Pravacol, the other plan wants Lescol, and another wants Zocor. These are all medications in the same class (Cholesterol Lowering) and all expensive (and they are all "Me-too" drugs, that means about the same risk and benefits).

So, for your Doctor, tracking what to write for what patient becomes a nightmare, I have at least 7 formulary books on a shelf in my office. What really happens is that the doc writes the Rx, the patient goes to the pharmacy, and the pharmacy computer says this drug is not on Formulary. So the pharmacists calls the docs' office and asks for a substitute.

This costs the pharmacy and the doc a lot of time (money) in hassles, which could be avoided if the doc had real-time info on what to write in the first place i.e. an Internet link on a hand held computer.

The same thing applies to laboratory work. I have at least four different labs that I have to use and several dedicated printers in my office for those different labs. Again, an Internet link to the labs for ordering and receiving labs will save me and the labs a lot of money. This is what DR Chart does.

Also AHT/ADVH has a co-marketing agreement with a company that makes hand held computers that use a radiofrequency download to the main computer in the doc's office. Sot the doc can walk from room to room without having to stop at a computer station to link up or download.

This is why I invested in ADVH. I personally know of the need for their product.

The one problem they have as opposed to other "Internet stocks" is that they will be profitable soon, as opposed to the year 2001. So that seems to work against them in this crazy market.

But don't think this is a little scam company, the Mayo Clinic doesn't think so.
