John

each plant has some digital equipment which I'm sure will need fixed. I do not know the exact figure that it costs to be shut down but I do know it is alot. It is not to the utilities' advantage to ignore these systems. as to the amount of digital equipment, my plant is one of the newer ones in the US. our radiation monitoring system is digital and not Y2K compliant. several fixes are being contemplated (i am not in that loop), some as simple as setting the internal clock back.

I feel confident my plant will be ready, however I do not have the same faith in coal fire stations. They do not have the regulatory pressure that we do. Therefore I have ordered a generator.
