I just heard a piece on CNN that scientists say they will begin human trials early this year on a newly discovered compound, GS4104, that has eliminated flu symptoms in test animals within a day and without side effects. cnn.com Glaxo may announce any day that it will proceed to Phase III trials on its flu treatment GG167. Quidel announced on 4 September 1996 that its influenza development program, which is funded by Glaxo Wellcome, is fully operational, and that Quidel has made significant progress. quidel.com Quidel's current price includes little if any speculation valuation. Since it appears more and more likely a flu drug treatment will come to market, Quidel's should see more speculative interest in its test. Mike
