A recent survey by Dataquest reveals that the cable modem market is growing fast, expecting total worldwide shipments to reach 500,000 units in 1998. The survey, called Cable Modem Market Share and Forecast, First Half of 1998, ranks Motorola, Nortel, Com21, 3Com and General Instruments as the top five leaders in market share shipments during the first half of 1998.
