I've been following this thread with great interest since it first started in May 97, although never posted up till now. I own a substantial position in this company at present and I've enjoyed many profits along the way. I think that it is naive to assume that the death of this company is near as some seem to think, although I do agree it is somewhat overvalued at present.
It is far too early in the year for net stocks to collapse dramatically, and I believe Amazon will be around for many years to come. The recent sell-off (that I am watching with great interest from Europe at present) is in my opinion, a reflection of long-overdue profit taking, and if nothing else, is healthy for the sector as a whole. Amazon has become a household name not only over here, but also throughout North America. Those that think the game is over are grossly underestimating the impact this company has and will have in the future, and I agree with a previous statement made on here that most investors will not want to give up the stock easily because it is still largely viewed as a good stock to hold even if it is still in a money-losing position. The long-term outlook for Amazon I think is that it can only get better and better, even though we will have dips along the way.

Just a few thoughts on my part, although anything is possible!!!
