Private Placement of $2,950,000 CAN MONTREAL, QUEBEC--In accordance with the placement authorized by the votes approved during the Special Meeting of Shareholders held on 10 December, 1998, Pebercan Corporation is proud to announce that the non-arm's length private placement of $2,950,000 CAN was completely taken up. The principal shareholder of the corporation who subscribed thereby reaffirmed his confidence in this project. The indebtedness that had ensured the 1998 cash flow was converted into share capital. DRILLING OF CANASI 1 The geological formations crossed by the drilling of Canasi 1, currently at a depth of 1,900 metres, are consistent with expectations. Drilling should conclude in a dozen days. Pebercan Corporation is already considering drilling another well on the same structure.
