Hello. I'm new to the BRCM rollercoaster. Just read the ML research note and reiteration of Intermed-Buy/LT-Buy rating. It was very upbeat, but ML's price target for BRCM is $172 in mid-2001 -- impressive, but not what high-flying traders want to hear. Estimates $900 million revenue in 2001, and assumes continuing market shares of 65% of the cable modem and the set-top box markets and 35% in LANs. Based on 12x revenue and 60 P/E, which is similar to VTSS and PMCS. Sees profit margin remaining at 15% while BRCM establishes market share. Confident that BRCM will beat concensus estimates for this quarter. Called it the most dominant new semiconductor company.
Doughboy.
