Our local newspaper reports "Pulp and paper industry sees brighter '97" , they mention Repap and it's loss of $496 million vs profit of $140 million in the previous year. Also revenues down by 17% and Avenor has an agreement to buy Repap.

On the brighter side, an economist with the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association predicts that shipments will rise by 3.7% and will exceed the 1994 record. In addition the article discusses the paper price increase which will take effect next month and has a good chance of
being accepted.

In this deal which shareholders have to approve the deal REPAP or AVENOR ?

Thanks,

Kristopher
