I keep MBT because the executions, while requiring some experience to use, are absolutely the best! With Amerirade, it takes me 5 minutes to log on and get to the order screen, 2 minutes to enter, more minutes for me to confirm, more to execute and maybe an hour to confirm back to me.
With WSA it takes 2 minutes to get into the web site, but once there, it stays there for the day. It takes 30 seconds to load the order screen and 20 seconds to enter, 20 to 40 seconds for me to confirm, 50+ seconds for the order to be reflected on Level II and then 2+ minutes (sometimes much longer) for confirmation back to me. I usually watch SEOL Time & Sales and Level II and I'll see my trades go off real-time.
RT3 takes 4 minutes to load the program, but it's there all day unless it crashes. To place an order might take 1 second if you're "loaded" and could take 15 seconds, maybe a minute or so if you want to bring up Level II and quote data first. Once you press [Enter Order] if your price is current, you are DONE in 5 seconds!!!
That's why I have MBT, and someday will move much more of my activity over there.

Last night I loaded @home IE 4.01 and the SEOL 5.0 beta dated December 1998 and it runs great. Just a little bug in Time & Sales not updating fully, they tell me a new beta copy is to be released in February. SEOL just gets better & better. I may keep it in addition to RT3 just because it is so FAST and EASY to use, as well as for a back-up and as a cross check to the RT3 data. |
