TO ALL - - Just an honest post - -

As I'm sure everyone has figured out a lot of people that are usually on these threads are having problems getting into SI. I look around at threads that should have 200 new posts on a day like today and see 20.

What happened was that after (famous ISP) got the T-3 up and running it accidentally sent an incorrect DNS number out for all the other ISPs to update their router tables with. They of course were able to correct their own mistake, but many of the other ISPs don't update their router info every few hours much less every day. SI commented that some may only do this on a weekly basis.

I'll bet most of the missing people are really hurting without access, this is in fact an addiction for a few of us. What I would suggest doing is to take the time to e-mail those that are conspicuously missing and tell them that they need to contact their ISPs and have them update the code ASAP. This is not just a pesky tech help deal but a big deal, and a little insistence to these ISPs might get a lot of people back on.

It might also help to pass this info on to some of the other threads.

Have fun, sounds like some of you already have been.
