Quite frankly,

I was not surprised one bit by Brazil's move yesterday. I predicted that Brazil would devalue its currency early in '98 on another thread, that people should not listen to the experts that claimed all the loans would stabilize their currency. I was especially angry in that a major US brokerage which claims it knows it's way around World Markets completely missed the Asian contaigon was now telling clients to buy TBR and that the price target was $170. Those folks were toast then and even more so if they continued to hold not only TBR but Brazilian stocks in general.

If there was one thing we learned from the Asian contagion it was that the US could continue to thrive in the face of Asian depression/deep recession for all practical purposes. The same will be realized with Brazil only it will take a much shorter period of time. To me the past two days have presented a buying opportunity and I picked up additional CSCO and AOL options.
