It is absurd for you to say sentiment has not been a recent
market problem. Are you aware the ten day put/call ratio
recently hit 49.6%, its lowest level since the October
1997 top at 51.6%. All averages had tremendous moves on the
upside of historic proportion from October 8 to January 8.
To say the market had no short term sentiment problem
because the bull/bullandbears ratio is 66% is ignoring
the evidence to the contrary which is obvious in the ten day
put call data. Obviously this contributed to the Brinker
caution last weekend to expect this market to have a
correction of significance.
