Actually as ancient as it is Yggdrasil can be booted from CD and run off the CD transparently. It has some neat advantages for developing kernel changes if you are a real hacker.. But it IS sorely out of date in many ways.. one of the first distributions with ELF binaries... I used to run a hybrid Slackware 96 and Yggie combo but found too many conflict bugs.. the GUI would come up part Ygg and part Slack... the better interface was Slack I finally decided..
