In the February 6 edition of Boot magazine there is an article on Exponential Technology's new 533 mghz chip. The chip, according to a friends brother is testing well above spec and appears to be very solid. The heat output is pretty significant, however the chip clearly sounds as if it'll blow the doors off the current market offerings.

While there is still a lot of "if" in Apple and I am afraid that generally means we have not yet hit the basement; the NeXT merger, the threee markets listed in an earlier post: internet, multimedia, and education, the speed of this processor, along with a solid install base, loyal users, enough cash to weather the storm all point to Apple sustaining a smaller but profitable niche.
