I'm no fan of Webbroker, but I did notice a significant improvement when I went from 14.4 to 56K. So don't dig out those 9600's or 2400's (I have a 1200 that I will be willing to accept offers on.).

I agree about the comments on the thread about superfluous graphics, which only slow down the login & trading procedure.

I have found that the following procedures "speed up WebBroker" since most of the graphics are in your "cache";
1. In the morning, after boot up, log in and then log out (with or without any transactions;
2. Minimize, do not Close the Window. Or Use <CRTL-N> to open a Window on top of it.

If you want to get really greedy, don't logout, just let you login expire (even more is saved in your cache).

Strong Encyption (128 bit) slows everything down.

My only complaint with this is its harder to make a transaction over the internet than it is over the phone. On the phone all I need is my account # & my name. This gets me in touch with someone who has never spoken to me before & my trade is approved.

On the internet I need two passwords to effect a trade.

The major advantage of online trading has to be: "Not having to listen to the sales pitch on what everthey are pushing today while waiting for a trader".

Try the new webbroker site. It HAS to be equivalent of at least 9600 :)))

Yours truly,

Brian Diggle
