they are EAR candles and the ones I used where some kind of linen but they do make them in wax..I just didn't want to use those they look like this dolphinsoftware.bc.ca and you get them from you "nature" store You hear alot of crackling going on and I kept asking if my hair was being fried while my brother couldn't stop laughing It is a sight to see and those darn pictures better not make it onto the internet It costs you 80 bucks to get this done at a spa...but of course I did the at home version just don't forget the aluminum pie plate....those Dixie plates might make you go up in smoke
