Earlie - Re: " If you genuinely think the workstation sales that will ensue from this contract will make a big difference to INTC's numbers,"

Now WHERE DID I SAY THAT ???

I said at this time I don't KNOW what SGI is going to add.

But SGI is only one of MANY CUSTOMERS for Intel's products - Compaq, IBM, HP, Dell, Intergraph, Hitachi, Sony.....

Re: "The gist of the clipping is that unit shipments are up, but that profits are down. This is precisely what one finds in a price war environment (which is exactly what is taking place in the workstation market), and is also the hallmark of a saturated market."

If UNIT SHIPMENTS are GROWING the MARKET ISN'T SATURATED !

What don't you UNDERSTAND about the word GROW ?

By the way - Intel's REVENUES and EARNINGS were at an ALL TIME HIGH this past quarter. I hope you like that ! I sure did !
