Apple, ladies and gentlemen, is lower than book value, if you add in the value of intellectual property, value of human resources and replacement cost of software engineers. I work in the aerospace industry where book value happened after the cold war. For every three companies that existed then, one remains now after they merged to improve cash flow and earnings.
Watch for a merger of giants. Wall Street likes it.
Watch for something interesting: A merger of Sun, Oracle, Apple and/or Novell under a great leader would cause Bill to lose that p/e of 50
overnight. Somebody is buying lots of Novell and Apple stock now....
The stock of the aerospace companies went up a factor of ten after the mergers. It don't go any lower than book value!
