The way I figure it Bill, The 2000 year model cars are out in Aug. 99 - that is at the dealers - transported by rail. Auto's would be intransit for two weeks prior.
The glass for those cars has to be in place at least a week before, and has to be shipped by rail again - another two weeks. Cycle time for a car start to end >two days + glass cycle time > 3 days.
This additional silver demand should hit the market in mid. June? In a silver market now very tight.
Priviso, those auto's built over seas should now be starting new auto glass production very soon. If I recall correctly, article said this would be "required by law" in mid 2000 year model.
Reason I mention it here, most all gold producers at least get silver credits, reduce cost of gold production if silver price goes up.
