I don't think Gore disqualified himself. I believe the Constitution specifically excludes the VP from these proceedings.

I don't know if the Constitution allows Senators to recuse themselves because of possible conflicts. The Dems would argue against her departure, of course. In any case, Boxer hasn't the brains or the character to recuse herself.
