Although I like FORE as a company, they do not have a stranglehold on the networking market. What ever gave you that idea? They have a significant market share of one particular area in the networking market and they are seeking to broaden their base.

Frankly they are unlikely to survive the coming integration of the telecom network and the data networking areas. Just too small.

Large:

CSCO - market cap = $152 billion
LU - market cap = $140 billion
Nokia - market cap = $80 billion
ERICY - market cap $40 billion

Small
ASND - market cap = $18 billion
FORE - market cap = $2.2 billion
XYLN - market cap = $0.8 billion

Cut CSCO and LU in half and triple FORE and you are still taking large vs. small.

FORE is a niche player that will get swallowed when one of the bigger players needs that niche in their portfolio of equipment. The other outcome is they will fade away. Read the Gorilla Game.
