Herm,

I use shorting against the box as a technique to be able to get in and out of a short stock position quickly without having to wait for an uptick. You can always close and open the long side very quickly.

I was wondering if we could get some cross-fertilization between this thread and:
Subject 19444

since a number of the topics seem to overlap, esp. the various plays to hedge, recover when an option strategy moves against one.
